Planning Electrical Supply for Packaging Machinery

Confirm three things before any packaging machine ships: supply voltage and frequency, single or three phase, and the connected load in watts. Machines are built to the destination supply, and a machine wired for the wrong supply cannot simply be plugged in on arrival.

What varies across machine classes

Bench sealing and coding equipment is typically single phase. Chamber vacuum machines, shrink tunnels, baggers and automation stages commonly require three phase, because the pump, heaters or drives draw more than a single-phase supply will carry.
